"Miss 'Universe' is A Bit Much, No?!"

A title deserving of change being that we can't possibly go up against aliens.

The title "Miss Universe" is both misleading and absurd. How can we claim to celebrate a woman as the epitome of beauty on a cosmic scale when the universe itself remains blissfully indifferent? In an age where we celebrate the beauty of diversity, the notion that an Earthling could win “Miss Universe” is becoming increasingly laughable. It’s a glaring contradiction—starting with the fact that not only does the universe not participate, but it doesn’t even notice. The competition should be aptly renamed "Miss Earth" or "Miss Humanity," reflecting a reality where beauty is judged under the transient and biased standards established by human society.

Lmmfao! What are we even talking about? Our species is confined to a humanoid shape, complete with two arms and a set of features that, while unique, hardly compare to the myriad forms that life can take throughout the cosmos. What happens when we rigidly adhere to a contest designed to highlight human beauty? We risk overlooking the extraordinary beings that might exist elsewhere—creatures with multiple appendages, iridescent skin, or otherworldly attributes that would easily outshine the best of us.

But let's play along. . Let us now consider the prize money: a whopping $850,000 and a replica crown for a title that claims to represent the universe. What does that actually encapsulate? It rewards one woman, excluding countless others from around the globe, who most likely embody more grace, intelligence, talent and charisma without the privilege of being "chosen." This weak competition reinforces narrow definitions of beauty, and intellectual capacities further exacerbating societal pressures on women.

As we critique the grandeur of such titles, let’s implement a shift in perception. The Entire competition curriculum gets a makeover. Set precedents and have them live up to higher standards of conduct. That is a lot of money to just give someone throughout the year just for being pretty (menial tasks aside). It should be "up to par" so to speak.

These spectacles should celebrate diversity and authenticity rather than perpetuating outdated ideals. By renaming it to something like "Mother Earth," (or something like that) we could better embrace the diversity of our planet and make a statement that is more reflective of who we are and what we stand for. It’s high time we stop glorifying the illusion of universal acceptance when the universe hasn’t cast a single vote.
